Environment pollution


The surroundings in which a person, animal and plant lives is called environment. There are many 
elements in our environment. Air, water, soil, plants etc. are such elements.They are essential for
the environment as well as human beings. But it is a matter of sorrow that many elements of our
environment are polluted in various ways. In many places of our country the environment has become extremely polluted. We ourselves are responsible for this severe pollution. Industries and factories emit huge amount of smoke, gases and fume. Water is polluted in many ways. People are
suffering very much for water pollution. To stop environment pollution we should take necessary
steps. We should plant trees more and more. We should keep our environment clean. We must be 
aware about the bad impacts of environment pollution. By doing all of these we can stop environment
pollution.

A gerund is a present participle (verb + ing) which works as a noun in a sentence.
