Past tense & Future tense
Past tense: The past tense is a tense whose principle function is to place an action or situation in past time. past tense is differentiated in four categories. 1.indefinite, 2.continuous, 3.perfect and 4.perfect continuous.
Past indefinite: Past indefinite tense is used to denote an action completed in the past or a past habit and result is not lasted.
Structure: Subject+ past form of main verb+ Object
Example: I ate rice.
He went to Dhaka.
Past continuous: Past continuous tense is used when the action was continued for some time in the past.
Structure: Subject+ was/were+ ing form of main verb+ Object
Example: He was walking there.
They were playing Cricket.
Note: If the subject is a first person or a third person singular number then 'was' will be added after subject And if the subject is a plural number then 'were' will be added after subject.
Past perfect: Past perfect tense is used in the former action between two completed actions of the past and simple past is used in the later action.
Structure: 1st subject+ had+ past participle form of main verb+ 2nd subject+ past
form of main verb+ 2nd object.
Example: My brother had come before I ate rice.
The patient had died before the doctor came.
Past perfect continuous: Past perfect continuous tense is used for an action that begun before a certain point in the past and continued up to that time.
Structure: 1st subject+ had been+ ing form of main verb+ 1st object+ 2nd subject
+ past form verb+ 2nd object
Future tense: Future tense is a verb form that generally marks the event described by the verb as not having happened yet, but expected to happen in the future.
Future indefinite: Future indefinite tense is used when an action will be done or will happen in future.
Structure: Subject+ shall/will+ verb+ Object
Example: I shall go there.
They will go to village.
Future continuous: This tense is used when an action is thought to be going on in the future.
Structure: Subject+ shall be/will be+ ing form of main verb+ object
Example: I shall be reading the book.
Raju will be doing the work.
Future perfect: This tense is used to indicate the completion of an action by a certain time in the future.
Structure: 1st subject+ shall have/will have+ past participle form of verb+ 1st object+
before+ 2nd subject+ main verb+ 2nd object
Example: I will have done the work before he come.
He will have sang a song before you leave.
Future perfect continuous: This tense is used when an action will have been continuing by a certain future time.
Structure: 1st subject+ shall have been/will have been+ ing form of main verb+
1st object+ 2nd subject+ main verb+ 2nd object.
Example: I will have been waiting for you until you come back
