Health is wealth

Once upon a time there lived a generous and kind- hearted king. But the people were not happy with their king because the king was very lazy and would not do anything other than eating and sleeping. He spent days and weeks and months in his bed either eating something or sleeping. The king become a potato couch and people started to worry about the king. One day the king realized that he could not even move his body, not even foot. He became very fat and his enemies made fun on him, calling him "fatty king", "bulky king" etc. The king invited expert doctors from various part of his kingdom and offered them generous reward to make him fit. Unfortunately none of them could help the king to gain his health and fitness. The king spent too much money but everything went in vain. One fine morning, a gentleman visited the kingdom. He heard about the illness of the king. He also said the minister at the palace that he could easily cure the king. Hearing this promising word the minister became very happy. He requested the king to meet the gentleman to get rid of his problem. The gentleman resided at a distant place. Since the king could not move his body he asked the minister to bring the gentleman to the palace but the gentleman refused. He said that the king had to go to him, in order to get cured. After that the king met with the gentleman at the decided place. The gentleman complimented the king saying that he was a good ruler and he also said he would soon regain his health. The gentleman asked the king to come for treatment next day. He also added that the king had to come here on foot. The king was unable to walk even a few step on the road but aided by his followers he reached the gentleman's place. Unfortunately, the gentleman was not available there and his devotee requested the king to come next day for treatment. This was repeated for two weeks and the king never met the gentleman and never had any treatment. Gradually, the king felt that his weight became decrease and he felt a lot lighter. He realized the reason why the gentleman asked him to reach his place on foot. Very soon the king regain his health and the people were very happy in his kingdom.

A gerund is a present participle (verb + ing) which works as a noun in a sentence.
