The Rainy Season


There are six seasons in Bangladesh. Rainy season is the second season. This season come after summer. This season consists of Bengali months 'Ashar' and 'Shravan". In fact, it extends from the
end of June to the end of August.

During the rainy season the sky remains covered with cloud. It's rain cats and dogs regularly. All the
rivers, canals, ponds are fulfill with water. The roads become muddy. Excessive rainfall causes flood.
The suffering of the poor know no bounds. They can not go out work due to heavy rainfall. We have
to go out with umbrella. We can hardly find any rickshaw. There is water everywhere but no pure water to drink.

The rainy season has many merits. It is a blessing of nature in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Most of the people of our country are depend on agriculture. So rain is important
for our country. paddy and jute grow well during this time. We get plenty of fishes in the rainy season. Crops, plants and trees grow rapidly in this time.

The rainy seasons has some demerits too. In rainy season village roads go under water and become muddy. Heavy rainfall causes flood. Because of that many people lost their home or property. They
have no place to live, nothing to eat. These are demerits of rainy season.

In the conclusion we can say that rainy season is the mixture of blessing and curse. But we forget it's
curse when we think about it's blessing. The rainy season has a great economic importance. So we really blessed by the rainy season.
