The major ones are illiteracy, population growth, unemployment, health and sanitation, natural calamities etc. Students can play a vital role to remove some of these problems. For this, they need not hamper their studies. They can serve society in their leisure time or long vacations.  Students can play a necessary role in removing the illiteracy from our country. They can setting up a volunteer in setting up and teaching at night schools and Friday schools.   Two lives were lost in a road accident in Dhaka. staff reporter, Dhaka city, 11 November Two biker were dead brutally in a road accident near ......... in Dhaka city at 10:30 a.m. A speedy motorcycle was crashed with a running bus. The biker was dead on the spot and his friend was injured seriously. After taking the biker's friend at hospital, doctor declared him dead at noon 1:30 p.m. It is reported that the biker named ....... , son of....... was a student of a private university and his friend name............ , son of ........... was his school friend. People became very frightened at this mishap. Consequently, the traffic in the road stopped for several hours. A case was also filed to the local police station in this connection. Road accident is a curse. Hope that all of us will be conscious while traveling and drivers also need to be careful.

  Once upon a time, there was an old farmer who had four sons. All of them were very lazy. One day the old man fell sick and was counting his last days on bed. He worried a lot about the future of his sons. The old man's health deteriorated every day and he decided to talk to his sons about their future. However, his sons did not listen to him. Finally the old man decided to play a trick to let his sons realized the importance of work. He called all his sons and let them sit near him on his bed. He said that he had a treasure box with gold coins and expensive gems for them and wanted to share the treasure equally among the four of them. Once upon a time, there was a huge tree with a broad trunk and innumerable branches right in the middle of a dry land. The tree gave rest and shelter to hundred and thousand of travelers. Being located near four towns and many villages the tree was an ideal meeting point for travelers. One day two travelers reach the tree after a long time of walking. Their destination was one of the town nearby. It was a hot and sunny day and the travelers were very happy to take rest under tree. Exhausted, they slumped under the tree. They slept for a while, enjoying the cool shade and the soft breeze. After a while one of the travelers got hungry. They had no food to eat. The hungry traveler looked up on the tree to see if there was any fruit. Finding none he began to curse the tree. "Oh, this is just useless tree and it has nothing to feed us not even a fruit. Once upon a time there lived a generous and kind- hearted king. But the people were not happy with their king because the king was very lazy and would not do anything other than eating and sleeping. He spent days and weeks and months in his bed either eating something or sleeping. The king become a potato couch and people started to worry about the king. One day the king realized that he could not even move his body, not even foot. There is a proud teak tree in the forest. He was tall and strong. There was a small herb next to the tree. The teak tree said," I am very handsome and strong. No one can defeat me". Hearing this the herb replied, " Dear friend, too much pride is harmful. Even the strong will fall one day". The teak ignored the herb's word. He continued to praise himself. A strong wind blew, the teak stood firmly. At the time of rain the teak tree could stand strongly by spreading it's leaves. During these time the herb bowed low. As usual the teak did not want to bow. The storm kept growing stronger. The teak could no longer bear it. He felt his strength giving way. He tried his best to stand upright, but in the end he fell down. That was the end of proud tree. When everything was calm again, the herb stood straight. He looked around. He saw that the proud teak had fallen. So we can learned from this story that pride goes before a fall.

  Nick was a ten years old boy. He was the only son of his parents. Nick's father was a very rich and busy businessman who could not spend time with his son. He came home after Nick slept and was off to office before nick awake in the morning. Nick yearned for attention of his father. He wanted to go outdoors and play with his father just like his friends did. One day nick was surprised to see his father at home in the evening. "Dad it is a big surprised to see you at home," Nick said. " Yes son, my meeting was cancelled. So I am at home. But after two hours I have to catch a flight." his father replied. Nick asked that when his father would be back. His father replied that the next day at noon. Nick was in deep thought for a while and asked, " Dad, how much do you earn in a year?"  Nick's father replied that it was a big amount and he (Nick) could not able to understand it.
